Fiery Furnaces start things off with an intimate concert June 29, 2010 at The Penthouse at Cooper Square Hotel. Alexandra Richards will also be performing a special DJ set.

Music Unites joins with Culture Project to present TWIN SPIRITS with Sting and Trudie Styler June 30, 2010 at The Allen Room in Frederick P. Rose Hall at Lincoln Center.
TWIN SPIRITS is a unique theatrical performance by a chamber ensemble of actors, singers and musicians, portraying the deep and ultimately tragic love between the composer Robert Schumann and his pianist wife Clara Wieck. Robert’s letters to Clara are read by Sting with narration by David Strathairn and music performed by Joshua Bell, Jeremy Denk, Nathan Gunn, Nina Kotova, Natasha Paremski, and Camille Zamora.

Music Unites presents Mikhail Simonyan with musicians from the New York Philharmonic at City Winery (155 Varick St.) on Monday, June 14. Hosted by WYNCY/QXR's Elliott Forrest, proceeds benefit Music Unites and The Afghanistan National Institute of Music. General Admission is just $30 and VIp tickets, which include a signed CD, are only $50. Doors open at 8pm.
